Steve Spurrier Quits the Redskins!
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Steve Spurrier's resignation was as confusing as his offensive strategy, adding another dysfunctional day to the recent history of the Washington Redskins.

Spurrier walked away from pro football's richest coaching contract Tuesday, worn out from a failed attempt to bring his Fun 'n' Gun style to the NFL.

``This is a very demanding job,'' Spurrier said in a statement. ``It's a long grind and I feel that after 20 years as a head coach, there are other things that I need to do.''

:wow:

Anyone else wonder how long before he's named the new Nebraska Cornhuskers Head coach?

1. hmmm--very interesting
I'll give Nebraska until after the Sugar Bowl for them to formally announce, but you know it will leak out before then

2. I predict that Steve Spurrier --
-- will take a job as a bartender in a seedy bar in Baltimore, a dive with one tv mounted over the booze rack running ESPN non-stop.

3. I'm guessing Steve left town a very wealthy man!

Not the whole 15 million left on his contract, but if Dan Snyder didn't buy him out to at least the tune of 3-4 million bucks, then I'll kiss someone's ass.

on edit: The rumors I hear have him heading south to coach my beloved North Carolina Tar Heels. Roy Williams and Steve Spurrier! Any Dookies lurking out there might want to go ahead and shoot themselves now and avoid the rush.
