Spelling errors.
Do you ever look back on a post and cringe?

Do you notice that you posted a similar but incorrect word like "someone" instead of "somehow" in a sentence?

My spelling is not the greatest even at the best of times. I often "see" what I intended to type instead of what I really typed. I'm just glad that people here are smart enough to figure out what I intend to say instead of what I actually said.

2. I do it all the time
And then people like to point out my errors. I usually hit spell check just in case, but it doesn't fix properly spelled misused words, which is what I usually do. hehehe.

:hi:

How are you doing?

28. Same old reason. Work is backing up and has to get done.
Our office is closed for a week between Christmas and New Years, so if I don't get ahead now I'll be ready to hurt people in January.

sometimes I don't.

Sometimes I read over what I write.
Sometimes I don't.

Judge me or not.

I don't give a crap.

55. No, we didn't.
My boss has two assistants, and I'm now sharing them. So I don't have a dedicated assistant, and I have to negotiate with him to get their help on a week by week basis. The work will get done, but in a way that doesn't give me the stable predictable help I need. x(

I'm giving it a try, but I'm also still interviewing.

I like to see other people's favorites. Retrolounge has me reading poetry (I have no idea if he realizes how influential he can be) and I now have two of my favorites posted in my office. Whenever I get eye strain I sit back, look up and focus on the far wall to read them. :)

This was the first one that made me fall in love with his stuff (Lit 101 or something - Emerson College)

in Just-
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman

whistles far and wee

and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring

when the world is puddle-wonderful

the queer
old balloonman whistles
far and wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing

from hop-scotch and jump-rope and

it's
spring
and
the

goat-footed

balloonMan whistles
far
and
wee

*me again. Well it was reformatted incorrectly once I hit post, but I don't know how to correct it. You can see it as it's meant to be here http://www.cs.rice.edu/~ssiyer/minstrels/poems/1636.html His poems are often visual as well, which really hooks me in even more to read it as he wrote it words running together quickly giving vision to the prose. I don't know, I just really dig him. He's got some great very sexual stuff as well.

if all the bugs

should sharpen up

would find their relative significance
among the spinning of the stars

We can't disassociate from our own perspective and expectations well enough to even see our own mistakes. There's a serious lesson we all could learn from that.

But you were one of the first people I met on DU (I told you about my almost-20 year old cat Thom and you said you were proud to be his namesake) I knew then that you were a nice guy. :-)

I judged not necessarily on what you said, but how you said it. A spelling or word error wouldn't have changed that! :bounce:

45. I've missed some of them
when I go over my posts quickly. I'm pretty good in both grammar and spelling, and try to make certain everything I write is correct, however, there are a few I miss on occasion. The most glaring example of that is "there" vs "they're" vs "their." Since I usually edit as I write, that example might get missed.

54. yes
and some times I wonder about the threads where people discuss poor spelling, words and phrases they hate and sentence structure, if they are talking about me. Oh, that paranoia. One time in a thread like that someone hated seeing several periods in a row for punctuation. I do it all the time to mean a running thought or conversational line. And i use many of the most reviled words. Plus I spell like a freeper. Most of my grammar is okay but I have to spell check everything I write. Did I mention that I can't type? I hunt and peck. This is so sad. My IQ is well over average and I'm a good Democrat. I am always cringing over my mistakes. It's no wonder no one likes me.
