Attention chocoholics: Trader Joe's new "Sipping Chocolate" mix
Edited on Tue Dec-12-06 01:25 AM by Shakespeare
If you're still pining for Starbucks' short-lived "Chantico" experiment (super-rich European-style hot chocolate), you have to try this. Very rich, very dark, NOT overly sweet. It comes in a 9 oz. tin for $3.99 (add to hot milk, and it's ready to go), and it's some serious chocolate heaven.

All praise TJs.

1. I loves me some Trader Joe's
Funny story, one of the holiday cookies I bake calls for mint chocolate wafers. I could not find them ANYWHERE. So I started to look for mint Hershey kisses and could not even find them. I bought a bag of regular kisses (disappointedly).

A few days later, I went to Trader Joe's to pick up milk and butter and a few staples, when, lo and behold, they had mint chocolate wafers. I was in hog heaven!

2. We don't have those stores here.
Dammit.
Lemme see if I can find it online.

7. I'm sorry, I really am. No one should have to live without TJs.
Chicago actually only recently got some stores. My brother in LA used to talk about it all the time and I'd always wonder what the big deal was. Then I started shopping there.

3. TJFree-Trade Organic Cocoa-Head Here
Just add hot water. Not too high in calories/sugars, either (I'm diabetic and occasionally care about such things).

4. I could do a commercial for those guys. Seriously, they should hire me.
I'm in there practically twice a week, anyway. :D

Love, love, LOVE TJ's! :loveya:

5. Oh, you and me both.
I can't even count how many times I've called my sister to tell her breathlessly about some great new product. She now requests periodic TJs care packages since she doesn't have on in Jacksonville. :7

6. Me three! I'm an addict! I irrationally love TJs. Have you tried their Greek
yogurt? The non fat variety is only 100 calories per cup and tastes incredibly rich and creamy. I swear to god, I'm one of those people that would rather have one teaspoon of the full-fat, full-flavor version of things than a vat of the diet version. And I've never been a huge fan of yogurt but I eat it because it's good for me. But this yogurt is unbelievable. I have it every morning with berries, flax meal, nuts and some honey and ADORE it. It's better than some of the full-fat imported Greek yogurts I've tasted.

Oh and as soon as I saw the tins of drinking chocolate, I bought 10 to give as gifts. I'm packaging them with gourmet marshmallows, cinnamon sticks, and some chili powder so people can experiment with different flavors. I haven't actually tried it myself, I'm a bit afraid to do so.

9. That's what I'm afraid of.
I've lost 53 lbs since July 1, and I don't want to gain it back from a sipping chocolate addiction. ;)
