I work in email hell.

So, since we all basically work from home on my job, there are tons of email. And you are required to respond to every email. Even if you're new (like me) and have no idea what the answer is, I'm still required to respond "I don't know." I probably write "I don't know" twenty times a day. Seriously.

But my thing is, a ton of people get cc:'d on every email, so, for example, if you make an error, every one knows- even if your error has absolutely nothing to do with them. So, recently I made an error on some paperwork. It has literally been done and taken care of, and yet I'm still getting email remarking on my error.

Really. I get it. It's done. It's taken care of. Do I still have to hear about it from someone who it really doesn't affect anyway? Perhaps if they'd read all their email, they'd see that the problem had already been taken care of.

Every see Office Space? How many people mentioned the TPS reports? Seriously. It's just like that, only on email.

This job is not what was sold to me.

I'm a credentialed teacher. This is a job in education, but just not in the classroom. Perhaps I should consider going back into the classroom.

Again, rehashing something that was corrected a week ago.

Not only are they email nuts, they are not up on current events!

Guess they didn't read everything they've been cc:'d on!

I don't care whether or not they know.

I swear, if I don't respond to each and every one, I'll get an email from everyone cc:'d wanting to know if I received the email.
