Is Big Brother watching you?
The company I work for has installed new "spy-ware" to keep an eye on all employee's work habits. From how many key-strokes we type to what web-sites we visit and to read all in-coming and out-going e-mails and taking screen shots of what we are doing during the day. I know that they have every right to do this, but I still feel violated in some way. Does anyone else deal with this at their work place? How do you feel about it? Just curious.

2. Well, it's understood nothing on your work computer is private
I know they can keep tabs on everything we do, but I don't think they waste too much time at it, I mean, some personal use of your computer is allowed, anyway, just don't assume you have the kind of privacy you may have at your home computer.

For those whose only access to a computer is at work, you might feel differently about it, but at least you know in advance that you may be monitored.

3. Nothing so invasive
But my company says they monitor everything. I'm here to tell you than a year and a half after I signed up with the DU that either they are lying or they wasted their money on the software they use because I have never been approached about anything I do during the day (but I also always get my work done before I screw around).

This software you speak of is insidious, evil, and something to be feared.

5. Mine Did Too
and hired an "internet security officer"

at a recent "corporate compliance" training they talked about the new computer policy that replaces the old one.

over 1000 "blocked sites" to keep people from "porn, youtube, and myspace" in particular.

I just rolled my eyes.

can't have anyone going to myspace now can we.

7. Satire means that we should ridicule the "human" faillings of corporations.
What are they so afraid of? Maybe they think everyone is looking for a better job on the internet. Perhaps they're worried about triangles: I hear it's been going around. Or is it shingles?
