it looks like all the rain we didn't get in January we're getting today in one big dose. 99 north and south was like a parking lot--as usual but with the extra special "OMG It's raining, let me drive too fast and then hit the brakes and hydroplane all over the road!!" Have driven that highway way through that part of Suck-A-Tomato too many times, and in all sorts of weather...can be such a horrible corridor. And when it rains, yes...people start either freaking out and driving horribly, or drive like pissed off maniacs...and drive horribly.

1 oz. black full-leaf-grade tea
1 cubic-inch of gingerroot
1 1/4" of cinnamon stick
5 whole black peppercorns
10 cloves
10 cardamom seeds

into infuser, pour nearly-boiling 190-degree water over.

steep 5 minutes.

chill for 30 minutes in fridge

pour over ice.

I assume you mean the cardamom...the recipe called for seeds...I went to this spice store on Main St. when I was living in Manayunk, Philly and said "I need these things." They gave me a baggie marked "cardamom" so I used it. I'm guessing they're pods actually. I don't know the first thing about spices..I'm just a lowly barista.

50. Oh, sorry. The seeds are small and black and grind up brown.

The cardamom pods are white, green or dark brown... the seeds are inside. It doesn't matter; I was just curious & I can play around with the recipe. Thanks!
