I was thinking of you hosting your Oscar party at the same time I was hosting mine. I had about 30 people over and it was a combo 50th bd/Oscar party. The bd gal wanted to do a whole "Gone With the Wind" themed southern-style potluck, so we had jambalaya, catfish, sweet potatoes, collards and greens, black eyed peas, cornbread, etc...and mojitos to wash it all down. :9 Yummy!! We all dressed up, too.

Hope your party was just as successful and fun!


I loved it when Ellen had Steven take her pix with Clint. That was classic. She did a great job at hosting, don't you think!

Yea for Jennifer, too! She totally deserved the win. Good for her. :thumbsup:

That sounds great. We had tacos. Just 5 of us. Me, the BF and our friends Tina, Sarah and her bf Ken.

Sarah won the Oscar pool. So she got an "Oscar" ... one of those cheesie fake Oscars you buy on Hollywood Blvd ... or in my case the Burbank airport.

We played an Oscar game, too. We had a huge mylar Oscar Award balloon that I'd gotten ahead of time, as the prize. Happily enough, our teenage son got the most correct, so we got to keep it! No, we didn't give him the right answers, either. He just got lucky. He hadn't seen most of them. LOL.

We presented an Oscar to the bd gal for her "Lifetime Achievement" and another very creative friend actually made an Oscar statue out of rice krispie treat, complete with a chocolate base and covered with edible gold glitter! BIG hit with the crowd, lemme tell ya! Too funny.
