I thought a prerequisite for getting into college was knowing your alphabet...
Edited on Tue Feb-27-07 11:32 AM by NewWaveChick1981
:eyes: One of our student workers has misfiled a bunch of stuff. Seems she thought the first names on student files were the last names. :yoiks: Now our receptionist has to go through the files with her and straighten everything out. :grr:

Just venting... :hi:

1. That's pretty scary
So if there was a name like John Rafelstinski, she would have thought Rafelstinski was the first name?

3. Do we work at the same place?
Heh, I know we don't. We had a gal in our department who did that, could NOT convince her that she was wrong! They transferred her. :hi:

4. Knowing the alphabet...
Doesn't relate to mixing up first and last names on a form. Your form might be confusing. Have you thought about looking after the work study kids for a few hours before putting them into production?

5. On the positive side...
...there's only room for improvement :hi:

It would be nice if the high school she graduated from or any high school for that matter had some accountability for failing to provide someone with an adequate education paid for by our tax dollars. Here in Florida they don't teach their high schoolers anything except how to pass the FCAT tests. That's not learning or teaching, just memorizing the things that will be on the tests.

6. You have to realize
that this is the Millennium-generation. Any and all instructions must be specific, everything must be splet out. They do not take responsibility if your instructions are not explicit and detailed. They are extremely, capable students, but they only do what's expected of them, nothing more. Additionally, they expect high praise just for doing the norm.

I pray that you don't' have to put up with their propeller parents.

7. Oh please
More baby-boomer whining about how everyone younger than them is an idiot.

Tell me, who were their teachers and parents that decided that education should be secondary to self-esteem in school?

12. At my college I swear all one needed
was a warm body and a fistfull of money. There were some dumb, and I mean dumb people I sat in class with, most of them were gone by midterms, but by some miracle some hung in to the end of semester.
