I sometimes hate having a Republican brother-in-law!!
My sister, BIL, and I have taken joint vacations for years. We've gone to Belize, Mexico, Canada, Scotland, Ireland, and England. I want to go to Paris this fall for about 8 or 9 days, fly in and then use the Metro and trains to travel around.

But my brother-in-law won't go because it's France and they hate Americans!

UGH!!

1. Tell him they don't sell "French Fries"
:D

frites is the word for it in French, but you don't have to tell him that.

2. I was in Paris between Christmas & New Years.
French people are some of the nicest I've ever seen. I don't know why they have that reputation.

3. I thought they had "officially" stopped hating the French.

Even the "Freedom Fries" guy has recanted. Maybe you should point that out to him. But seriously -- no offense -- your BIL is an idiot. But I've got one of those, too; at a family dinner a few years ago we had several bottles of wine, one of which was French, and my dumbass wingnut SIL refused to drink the French wine because she was boycotting all things French. And I just rolled my eyes and said, "Fine; that leaves more for me."

I guess you're going to have to leave him behind. Have fun in Paris.
