You know, it really is the simple things
I have a $20.00 stovetop espresso maker from Italy and a $10.00 French milk frother, and the two in combination make the best caffe macchiato in the world. :) This is good, because the basement in my apartment (a weird, two-floor one bedroom in a house) is never far above 60 degrees in this weather. A little chilly. Plus I got a letter from an old friend, which is great.

So what little things make you happy in life?

2. Good book, good chair, floor lamp, cats playing
in the background. That's my idea of an idyllic existence. Oh, and a medium to heavy snow falling outside.

bet you eat sushi, read the New York Times and have your navel pierced, too. ;)

Ah yes, the simple things, when my grandaughter says, 'I love you, Gram - thanks for the cell phone.' :silly:

7. many
cuddling with my baby
laughing in bed, cracking each other up
planning her birthday next weekend
a day free of back pain
dinner at Mike's American Grill
one of my six cats sleeping in my lap or by my side in bed
successfully pilling Daddy on the first try, with no blood
a bowl of Froot Loops or some taste-bud-orgasmic Mexican food
any view of the stars, the moon in any phase, sunset on the Pacific, and sunrise over my own trees
any conversation of any length with my sisters or friends back home

You're right, jpgray, it's the simple things that make life such a joy.

12. Driving home today...
I was just sick at all the stuff Bush has done while in office--things are really getting to me lately. Then I see this old guy holding a sign...I thought some people were on strike, so I took a look and saw, 'Impeach Bush'. God, that made my day. I gave a honk, a thumbs up, and a loud, 'YEAH!!!' BTW, I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah.

17. Oxycodone
Especially when you're running a temperature of about 102F, and the pus is dripping out of your ear and running down your neck, and the pain is radiating down your jaw into your throat, and every other bone and muscle in your body is aching in sympathy.

Two of those puppies, a bowl of ice cream, and a Petula Clark album on the CD or MP3 player ...

--bkl
... now THAT'S livin'!
