Lounge or GD, how do you choose?
I am curious as to the placement of some posts, including mine. Any guidelines as to which forum is more appropriate? What makes a General Discussion more appropriate than the Lounge?

1. GD is for topics that have relevance to current events and politics..
Lounge is for other stuff.

And even then, it's a hazy line. If a current event has no real effect on the political landscape (e.g. Anna Nicole) threads about it could get kicked into the Lounge as well.

2. 99.9% of the time the Lounge is the correct choice
My guideline is that anything that is personal or for fun goes in the lounge. Serious discussions on nonpersonal matters go to GD. I'm not serious very often so mostly I'm in here :-D
