State Lawmaker Wants To Allow Retailers To Offer Beer Samples
Legislature Could Take Up Measure In April
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. -- State law allows liquor stores or other retailers to offer samples of wine, but one lawmaker is seeking to expand the law to include beer.
Sen. Pat Kreitlow, D-Chippewa Falls, said that he wants to extend the law so that customers can try beer samples. Kreitlow said that it would help consumers find out about the state's specialty brewers, including hometown brewer Leinenkugel.
He said that the beer industry has changed over the years to include many more choices, including apricot and chocolate beer with prices as high as $10 a bottle.
