3. Not really.

McDonalds has some sort of fruit parfait, but the "granola" is not healthy and I don't think the "yogurt" is either.

The best bet is probably to just limit portions. I think a hash brown and McDonalds is less than 100 calories, but I'm not sure anymore. I usually eat the egg mcmuffin (without bacon) and a hash brown.

The bottled water (which has salt in it!) is probably the healthiest thing at McDonalds.

I usually don't eat breakfast, so I'm not sure of anywhere else.

4. it's all pretty terrible for you, but tastes great
I love a sausage biscuit from McD's, but the sodium, fat and calories are terrible. I have had to swear off fast food breakfast for this reason.

17. According to my buddy who 'knows', Arby's has best sausage biscuits.

10. I like Burger King more than McD's
because their hash browns and coffee are better, but tbh all the sandwiched are the same: greasy bready sponge, egg foam slice, way too crispy bacon/fat slice with sausage bits, and finally neon cheese

BK is making an effort toward better.

Just announced, this morning in fact, that it will no longer buy eggs or pork from suppliers who confine "production animals" (I hate that euphemism) to cages or crates*. Given...the food is still toxic, but BK as a corporation just became marginally less so to the environment and to animals. I think that deserves at least a nod, if not actual applause. (They can have applause when they start offering soysage, "fake"on, and egg-substitute options as well and stop cooking my veggie patty in the grease of the hamburger meat patty they just took off the grill.)

I think Starbucks breakfast sandwiches are relatively "good" health-wise to the rest of the industry (Sodium is still an issue, even on the meat-free choice(s)) but I'm biased as I work there. They are not available everywhere yet, which is possibly an issue as well.

* - Source for this was the CNN bottom-of-the-screen news-ticker. I'll look to see if I can find more info.

Edit: to add citation.

12. I just want to know how hard McDonalds had to work to fuck up eggs.
Seriously, how do you make a simple egg sandwich THAT FUCKING BAD for your health? It's like they intentionally made it as unhealthy as possible.

13. I was going to say the Egg McMuffin, did a Google search,
and it confirmed my belief. I remember some radio PSA mentioning that it was a good choice ordered without cheese on it.

http://www.realsimple.com/realsimple/content/0,21770,1020305,00.html

Never tried a McGriddle, but it looks like it would just be loaded with sugar, if I'm assuming correctly that they're dipped in syrup...I always order the McMuffin when I need a fast food breakfast.

Burger King supposedly has a new selection of items for breakfast for $1 each, but since their website is a completely muddled piece of shit, I can't figure out which items are the cheapies...

16. Egg McMuffins are awesome -I am not much on McGriddles
If I want pancakes I will get pancakes. I don't like mixing the sweet with the food thing (I never understood sausages with pancakes anyway)

BTW Egg McMuffins are really Eggs Benedict without the Hollandaise sauce and in a sandwich form

15. I suppose it depends upon what you mean by "good."
Edited on Wed Mar-28-07 09:06 AM by Akoto
Health-wise, I don't imagine there's much.

I enjoy picking up something at Panera Bread. They have decent breakfast options. The food is at least somewhat healthy, and I don't feel like I've eaten a wad of grease afterwards.

If by "good" you mean "healthy," then I think that's about the best option.
