3. Oooo! Since you're here
I'll post the un-translated version. :7

2. Albrecht Dürer: 1471-1530
(as the narrator speaks, paintings by Dürer are shown on the screen)

The Nuremberg painter who captivated Europe with his sharp eye, his mastery of line and texture, his car hire service.

We apologise for the inaccuracies that have crept into this portrait of Albrecht Dürer. Dürer never operated a car hire service. Thank you.

Dürer drew his inspiration from his birthplace, Nuremberg. Portraits, landscapes, details of nature, social themes, religious themes... But always present was a fascination with the grotesque. To find out more about Dürer the man, as opposed to Dürer the insect...

Watch it!

To find out what went on in the mind of this great artist, we spoke to a person in Sydney.

"I know as much about Dürer as i know about a kangaroo's rectum. Well, a kangaroo's bum is a pretty tight little number, compared to other marsupial's bums. Well, personally, I prefer arse..."

We apologise for the inappropriate style of the portrait of Dürer. We'll start again with an appreciation of his life and works, sung by Miss Anita Eckberg.

:D

5. I remember when one of his engravings showed up on Antiques Roadshow.
No shit. Antiques Roadshow. The woman was stunned to learn that the dark and disturbing picture she had inherited and did not particularly care for was worth 5-6 figures.

I think the man was bleeding genius.

7. you get some wild stuff on Antiques Roadshow
I remember one lady who brought in a single silver spoon she had found in the rafters of her house. Turned out to be worth about $100,000. she nearly fainted.

14. I saw that one! She didn't even have it in a proper frame either.
It was just hanging in her stairway. Unbelievable! Why can't I have something like that just hanging around? Of course, I would *know* an Albrecht Durer if I saw one. He was a genius for sure.
