It's like riding a bicycle. You never forget how. LOAD OF CRAP.
I rode a bicycle yesterday for the first time in 15 years. Holy shit, I thought I was going to die. It was okay while I was moving, but when it was time to slow or stop, it was pretty shakey. I was at a small park in town. Of course I did not need to balance quite so much weight back then.

The new cycle weighs about half of what the one I had in high school weighed. That one was a 10-speed, except that the shifter for the front two gears was kind of screwed up. The new one has 24. I guess that is pretty much standard now. Also the old one was too small. It was a hand-me-done from my aunt when I was 11 or something and then it was too big. It was made in the 70s and had the shifting levers on the frame. The new one has them built into the handles with numeric indicators to note which gear is being used. I inherited a bike from my Dad he bought in the 1980s, but it had a lot of rust damage. I brought it to the shop to see what they could do. They looked at me like I wanted them to reassemble a stegosauras.

This is only the second new bicycle I have ever owned. The first was in 1972ish when I was maybe 6 or 7 years old. It was a red single-speed with training wheels, a bell and red, vinyl tassles on the handles. It was sold by a company called Kent. The new one is made by Cannondale in the USA.

1. I've got a bike, you can ride it if you like
It's got a basket, a bell that rings
And things to make it look good.
I'd give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it.

You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

I've got a cloak it's a bit of a joke.
There's a tear up the front. It's red and black.
I've had it for months.
If you think it could look good, then I guess it should.

You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

I know a mouse, and he hasn't got a house.
I don't know why I call him Gerald.
He's getting rather old, but he's a good mouse.

You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

I've got a clan of gingerbread men.
Here a man, there a man, lots of gingerbread men.
Take a couple if you wish. They're on the dish.

You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

I know a room full of musical tunes.
Some rhyme, some ching, most of them are clockwork.
Let's go into the other room and make them work.

2. Cannondales are the best thing since sliced bread
Congratulations on your spiffy new purchase.

I ride a Gary Fisher but I've heard great things about Cannondale.
