6. Isn't that a joke?
She drags her ass on stage for 15 minutes and lip syncs a few songs. I'm suprised that Britney has any fans left. But of course some dumb asses paid up to $300 on e-bay for the tix.

8. Did you see the MSNBC commentary on it today?
You have GOT to read this...I thought about you, my fellow catty celeb critic, when I read it.

Britney's immature, but it's fans who need help
Who are these gullible fools who wait hours for 15 minutes of nothing?

COMMENTARY
By Michael Ventre

Updated: 4:48 p.m. CT May 2, 2007

Cries for help come in many different forms. For Britney Spears, it was shaving her head or going out on the town with no underpants. For her fans, it’s waiting for three hours to listen to their heroine appear to lip-sync her way through 15 minutes of music.

If her show Tuesday night at the House of Blues in San Diego had been some sort of psychiatric triage, I would have instructed the therapists to work on the fans first.

Britney’s last concert tour was in 2004. She has indicated recently that she hoped to return to the stage. She followed through on that threat by performing a tiny handful of old favorites while strutting a few post-Federlinian steps and then bailing.

Patrons shelled out up to $125 per ticket for the hush-hush event, which received lots of speculative word-of-mouth advertising on the Internet and radio. Some fans griped, but it seems most gushed. It is those in the latter group who dearly need to reassess their lives.

The bar for pop fans seems to get lower and lower. But now it may have hit the ground altogether. When a form of entertainment segues into abuse, it’s time to seek other forms of entertainment.

I don’t want to call anyone who spent that kind of money so that Britney could keep hundreds waiting for three hours and then play for about 15 minutes a complete simpleton. That would be unfair to complete simpletons.

It’s akin to going to a fine restaurant, having to wait two hours beyond your reservation time as others get seated before you, getting a table by the kitchen, having a waiter who ignores you and then screws up your order, having the bus boy spill somebody’s half-full Mojito in your lap, noticing that the valet parking attendant seems to have put an extra 100 miles on your odometer, then realizing the next day that somebody used your credit card to buy furniture — and then saying, “What a great place!”

MORE at the link above.

(RKM, she's getting a little bit of a jelly roll on her, eh? Everytime I see her, I think about "What ever happened to Baby Jane?")

Edited on Thu May-03-07 05:46 PM by ronnykmarshall
The City Attorney slammed her in the court papers. I didn't realize that she was pulled up TWICE with the suspended licenses.

I LOVE the suggestions from the City Attorney:

1. 45 days in jail.

2. Suspend her licenses AGAIN for another 4 months.

3. Sign up for alcohol abuse education (which she was supposed to do in the first place) and monitor her for alcohol consumption for 90 days. (no drinkie, Paris)

4. Impound her car for 30 days at HER expense.

:yourock:

17. Here's what I HOPE will happen.
Note: Perez Hilton is that asshole blogger that has his lip attached to Paris Hilton's ASS! He write fluff stories about her because she owns his sorry ass and funds his website.

Here's what I like to see.

Judge: Miss Hilton, please take the gum out of your mouth this is not a night club.

Parasite: Um, WHAT - EVER!

Judge: Miss Hilton, I was going to sentence you to house arrest, but it's since you have shown no respect for the law or this court I am going agree with the City Attorney and send to jail for 45 days.

Parastie: (screaming) YOU CAN'T DO THIS! DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM??? (turning to Lard Lad Perez) PREZIE-POO! HELP ME!!

Perez, upon hearing the judge sending his meal ticket to jail begins to choke on the handfull of Cheetos he had shoved in his mouth. He falls to the floor flopping around like a fish out of water, peeing his pants, vomiting and turns blue.

Nicky Hitlon leaps over the desk and trys to attack the judge and quickly slammed down by the Sheriff officers. She cuffed and hauled out the court room screaming. She accidently kicks gagging and gasping Perez (Lard Lad) in the balls on the way out.

Parasite goes into shock and faints dead away bashing her head against a table opening a gash on her face. Paramedics arrive and try and revive the now lifeless body of Lard Lad.

In the back of the courtroom, Lindsey Hohan burst into laughter. She laughs so hard she craps her pants.

TMZ reporters rush out of the courtroom.

19. LOL!
Hey, I fixed one paragraph. We have to have tasers in this story somewhere:

Parasite turns to her attorney, bares her fangs and nails, and a deputy releases the fury of dual tasers on her...she quivers violently, at which point her breast implants pop goo all over the judge, and then goes into shock and faints dead away bashing her head against a table opening a gash on her face. Paramedics arrive and try and revive the now lifeless body of Lard Lad.

Yeah, it is a stupid thing to do! For almost 20 minutes, attorneys, court reporters, and a judge sat there waiting on her to show. That means that other hearings this afternoon will be delayed. That means that the judge won't tee off at 5 sharp. Equals unhappy judge.

39. She's explaining to the judge right now why she drove twice while DUI-suspended.
Paris Hilton is currently testifying on her own behalf before a judge who could throw her in jail for violating her probation.

Hilton's voice is uncharacteristically somber and monotone as she explains why she drove twice on a suspended license after being busted for DUI. Hilton pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving last January. The City Attorney wants to throw her in jail for 45 days for the probation violation.

JUDGE: Ms. Hilton, you engaged in very risky behavior after your license were suspended for 90 days, while you were on probation. Why on earth would you show such utter disregard for the court? TWICE?

PARIS: But JUDGE, I had to go to Virgin to buy a Tom Jones CD. I was trying to get my boyfriend du jour in the mood, and the Timberlake CD just wasn't doing the job, so to speak. Don't you realize how important it is that I have sex every single night of the week?! I did it all for Tom Jones! Worship me you pig!

48. Update! Judgment coming any minute now.
Paris' Fate Just Moments Away
Posted May 4th 2007 6:55PM by TMZ Staff

TMZ has learned that the judge deciding Paris Hilton's fate is currently in his chambers pondering the deeds of the embattled heiress. His decision on whether Hilton will go to jail for violating the terms of her probation (by driving with a suspended license in February) is expected to be announced any minute.

Before he left the courtroom, the judge heard three witnesses on each side of the case, including Hilton.

On the stand, Hilton blamed the violation on her rep, Elliot Mintz, telling the judge that Mintz misled her into believing that her license was valid. In fact, Hilton's license was suspended after she was busted for DUI on Sept. 7, 2006. CHP officers told the judge that they informed Hilton of her situation -- to her face -- when they pulled her over on January 15. Hilton was not cited for that incident.

67. Oh, it gets better: Mom Hilton chimes in!
Can you say "sense of entitlement?" Fuck the rich. And enjoy that cell-time, Par.

Moments after Paris Hilton was sentenced to serve 45 in the clink, TMZ learned that her mother, Kathy, rushed over to the lead prosecutor and lashed out, "I want your autograph. This is pathetic."

In the same breath, as she walked out of the courtroom, Kathy looked up and said, "I can't believe all the money we spent on this."

Yeah, ya hag, and it didn't do you any good this time, did it?

78. Wow
Sometimes I feel like I've walked into the fascist pound-of-flesher's club of meanness and spite. I find it off-putting and strange.

One would think the judicial system really would be about rehabilitation when it comes to drugs and alcohol. I mean the judge thinks he's doing the right thing by sticking her there with no perks but I've been in jail, more than once. There is nothing rehabilitative about it. Nothing. NOT ONE THING.

He could have JUST as easily sentenced her to rehab....mandatory and one for regular people. It MIGHT have actually helped her...and in the long run US...because one less drunk driver on the road DOES help. The judge had the power to do this. He just wants to show us po' folk that no one, in HIS court, gets special treatment.

It's all about making her a token, rather than actually changing the behavior of a drunk and that's not good. As is, the second that 45 days is up, IF she even ends up serving that much, she will throw one hell of a drunken, druggie BASH. I guarantee it. I hate it when they do this, JUST to show the world they are being "fair" and non-preferential. What if she was YOUR kid. I would prefer they teach this odd child/woman something.

Of course, I've actually been in jail. I take NO ONE'S freedom lightly. ...and she WILL drink and drive again, if this is her treatment and next time, she might hit YOUR car with YOUR kid in it. I would prefer alcohol rehab. any day.

79. In fact...I KNOW! I KNOW!
...and since you get such glee from sticking this girl in jail I guess I can gather you really really hate seeing rich folks get away with stuff. (Rehab. if done right, is NOT getting away with stuff. It can actually change behavior which SHOULD be the goal.) Anyway, I know...since murder, of any degree, second degree or whatever, has NO statute of limitations, let's revisit another rich drunk-ass driver. Let's revisit Chappaquiddick!! Sounds fair to me!! ...and someone actually died at the hands of that rich-assed drunk driver.

83. A grand jury has already investigated that twice...
...and returned no indictment. He's not above the law, either. He did plead guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, and received a suspended sentence. That conviction remains on his record to this day.

I would point out that he took his conviction much more seriously than Ms. Hilton obviously has hers. If she'd behaved herself and kept to the terms of her earlier conviction, she wouldn't have been back before the judge on Friday. And she has yet to sign up for the court-ordered rehab program. So, you wanna blame the courts for her attitude, or put the blame squarely with her, where it belongs?

87. Still Missing the Part
...where I simply don't believe in jail/prison. ...and Ted Kennedy KILLED someone. Give me a break, Paris killed no one. ...and yes, I can think of many better AND MORE EFFECTIVE things they could have done. How about having Paris serve food at a homeless shelter AND have to report to a psych ward at night, by force, if necessary?

Regardless, I certainly don't think the sentence for her "crime" should be rape and that DOES happen in jail. Of course, once again, I've been in jail. Have you? I hate seeing people who have NEVER been locked up or had their freedom taken from them, talk about jail. It makes me seethe.

There is nothing worse, which is also why they have a high suicide rate, even for people just stuck there over the weekend...HIGH SUICIDE RATE. ...and wealthy people DO commit suicide. There is NO more hopeless a feeling and believe it or not, your mind plays tricks on you. You may know, in your head, you only have a certain amount of time to serve but when you don't have the key....you don't REALLY know that. You feel lost and forgotten and all you think about is dying or banging your head against a wall until you are unconscious. That's how I found out they REALLY do have padded cells at jails. If the point is to change someone and this girl needs some changing...the LAST place to put her is jail.

...and that her own mom sat in the courtroom and heckled the judge kind of shows that these people are a few fruit loops short of a box of cereal.

I guess I just don't have that self-righteous sadistic sense of glee about EVER taking someone's freedom. I'VE had my freedom taken from me. I've been in jail a number of times and I was in a state mental institution in Texas, 35 years ago, for two years. I NEVER take it lightly just because everyone thinks it's funny because it's a rich girl.

I won't ever agree that it's right.

81. This isn't about rehab--this is about parole violation and flouting the law.
And her actions deserve punishment. She already got off leniently on the DUI months ago--and she's violated the conditions of her parole TWICE, which shows an arrogant disregard for the law.

She was ordered at her initial DUI sentencing to sign up for a alcohol rehab program, and never did so (another violation of the terms of her sentence). Now that you know the facts of this case, does your heart still bleed for her?

If the judge hadn't given her some degree of punishment for violating both her parole and the terms of her conviction, he'd be making an exception for her based on her money and her celebrity (that doesn't make her a token--that makes her subject to the same laws we're all subject to). The judge did exactly what was right.

82. I don't believe in jail/prison
I'm just not a big believer in jail as a behavior changer. If not rehab. then a hospital...something. Jail will do nothing...not one thing...except MAYBE make her also then be a rape victim. I really am far to the left about jail. I don't really believe in prisons or jails. They ONLY make people worse. So unless you are just going to sentence everyone to life in prison with no parole, for EVERY violation, there is no point in it. It only makes people worse AND that means also worse for those who have to run into them or deal with them, in real live, when they get out. I'm about change, not about pound-of-flesh. We are supposed to be an advanced civilization. Surely there is better we can do for people than just warehouse them in a state of horror, while they get much worse. NO ONE comes out of jail BETTER.

84. She wouldn't have had to go to jail if she hadn't violated the terms of her probation...
...TWICE. 45 days in county lockup isn't going to do much harm to Ms. Hilton; one hopes it might alter her self-centered worldview for the better. Given her toxic personality, it's hard to imagine how jail could make her any worse (seriously, find me an example of anything she's ever done that benefited anybody but herself).

And, again, the court ordered her into rehab back when she was initially convicted; she has so far refused to comply with that order. Time in jail is most certainly appropriate here.

89. I'm a True Redemtionista
It's my ethics. I don't support the death penalty. I don't support prison OR jail. I believe in rehabilitation. As the system is now, only the most violent should be eligible to go to prison.

This is my ethics. I apply my ethics across the board. Otherwise they're not really Ethics. They are just...liking some people and not liking others.
