She is almost 23 and just moved home so she can go to nursing school after graduating from college with a degree in Psychology.
She brought her two cats with her, and I already have a cat with terminal cancer and a very sweet parrot.
For one thing, my insurance company will cancel my policy if I get any of these types of dogs. I know...I am an insurance agent.
Another issue is adding to the stress of my ill kitty, which I don't want to do.
Yet another issue is my parrot. She has her "out of cage time" from 8pm til 10pm. If she were to become frightened and fly off of my shoulder, I am afraid any dog would pounce out of instinct.
Lastly, I don't WANT a dog around my house that I have to end of helping to take care of. I need a knee replacement, and I don't want an animal that large possibly knocking me off balance. I don't want to endure the puppyhood with the chewing and crying.
I told her she needs to wait until she gets her own place and she can get what she wants.
Everyday is a battle.
