Had an interview yesterday with company X; I think it went well. I'm hoping I get that job (liked the guy, the job sounds remotely interesting, etc.).

I had a second interview today for company Y. One thing that ticked me off was they had me wait an hour and 40 minutes for someone to show up (he was caught in traffic) to meet me for 20 minutes. Company Y called my references, and just offered me the job. I told them I wanted to take the weekend to think about it.

Here's the scoop:

1. It's 45-50 minutes away from my home.
2. The offer wasn't that great, monetarily ($9,700 less than I was making at my last job (I was there for only 4 mos. before I was let go (not for wrong-doing), and about $3,200 less than the job I had before that (and I was earning that salary for the past 3 years)).
3. No health insurance or vacation accrual for 90 days.
4. No flex time. If I need an hour or so for an appt. per month, no biggie. Otherwise, the guy said he couldn't do anything about it. Being that the job is so far from home, that's no good (I tend to have maybe 2 appts. a month, so that would mean an hour to commute, back and forth.).
