fairly random. Rilo Kiley, Jag Star, Fefe Dobson, and Melissa Etheridge are just four of the others. I find out about new artists from XM radio, MySpace, discoveringartists.com, iTunes, friends, reviews (I don't follow them, but I do read some review sites for the artist mentions,) and more. It's worth going through some you don't like (I didn't like Immaculate Machine, who has the iTunes single of the week,) for the ones you do like.

4. I didn't like Immaculate Machine the first 5 or 6 times I heard the album
But it kinda grew on me.

They're not nearly my favorite thing, but I do break that one out on occasion.

I've found Bit Torrent an invaluable resource for discovering new music, particularly indie which is pretty much all I listen to.

5. Well, I did mostly hear samples
Edited on Sat Jun-09-07 04:21 PM by mvd
But I wasn't crazy about the songs I heard at their MySpace. I like indie-pop generally, but this sounded too twee to me. I'll give them more listens to make sure.

I like what I've heard from them,) but I don't hear much talent in Immaculate Machine, so to me they don't pull it off.

12. I have no idea, maybe 750
I'm a big fan of compilation CDs like Nuggets, the Sun Box, the Vee Jay Records Story and Rhino's anthology of College Radio "hits." Maybe there's a way to check since it's all stored on my hard drive but that's a new thing and I'm not sure how to do it.
