WOOHOO! Woooo! *dances around*
Okay, so some of you might remember the awful time my sister's been having in regard to her MIL trying to take her kids for good (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=6618694 )

Our biggest fear was that my sis was going to run out of money to pay her attorney too soon, and would be left without any legal help. Today some kind person who barely knows our family, but admires my Mom's determination, loaned us the money we needed to pay the lawyer for not only handling this case, but also handling a lawsuit against the MIL *and* the judge! She said she'd be perfectly content to let me sister pay her back slowly, even $50 a month if that's all she could afford. Apparently this woman went through something similar early in her life, and remembers how awful it was.

So my sister's lawyer, Trina, is set to file her response tomorrow, and we're optimistic that everything is going to be okay in the end! :bounce:

Thanks for listening and caring, folks. :grouphug:

7. I know, I'm so RELIEVED right now.
My whole immediate (and some extended) family was literally within a day of packing up every TV, stereo, DVD, CD, as well as my extensive collection of novels, and even (potentially) our computer, in order to try and raise the money. My Mom was ready to sell their only car, although they wouldn't have gotten much for it.

You cannot imagine the weight off of all our shoulders right now. :bounce: :bounce:

I've been thinking about your sister, and really hoping that something would happen in her favor, and it did!

11. The woman's name is Kelly.
I've never met her myself, but she works with my Mom. She's new, and training to be my Mom's assistant. Apparently Kelly had some cash she inherited that was just hanging out in the bank.

Mom had her write the check right to the attorney herself, and we're dropping it off tomorrow morning, first thing! :bounce: :bounce:
