Ladies and gents; Summer colour?
I'm apparently strange, in that for the summer months, I like to lighten up my incredibly dark red hair and go with something brighter. Today I'm going from blowout burgundy to spicy red

Does anyone else do this? Am I a total weirdo? What do you do differently?

1. Yup — you're a total weirdo
It's why we like you. :D

We also trust there will be pics.

(Remember when Ariana Celeste went to that shade? It was hawt!)

2. Yeah, I sort of figured I was.
I might take some pics. My webcam is acting up and the digital camera isn't mine so is not here. Maybe with my phone, as long as it turns out ok.

3. I like to do that also and have been
since I was a teenager. We used to comb diluted hydrogen peroxide
through our hair and sit in the sun, to hasten the highlighted effects.
I haven't done it in a long time though.

15. Couldn't tell with all the baby oil in use!
:P

But we always washed our hair afterwards in cold water and used conditioner.

Our hair smelled great and looked great, with our new tans, for the evening! ;)

17. Your friends are afraid to be different! YOU are
the trend setter, it sounds like! That's a good thing!

Be the leader!!! Go girl!!

They're just afraid to look different, for fear on not being accepted.

7. Doesn't everyone do that?
No seriously, I used to do that all the time. This is the first summer I'm not, simply because I'm trying to correct a bad dye job.
Lots of people I know go lighter in the summer -- that's why they have all the products on the shelves for "summer blonding/hilites", etc.

9. Yeah, I actually don't know anyone who does
in my circle of friends, but I was SURE I wasn't alone, despite their scorn and derision.

10. I've heard rumors that you're a total weirdo..but it has nothing to do with your haircolor!
:hi:

Anyone who spends time outside ends up with lighter hair in the summer......why's that any different than lightening the shade w/dye?

13. I used to use this brand- Blowout Burgundy. Made my hair fall out.
Plus, it fades-but all reds do. Not as fast as others but it does fade.

I now use Naturtint that I get a Whole Foods. It lasts just as long and no clumps of hair fall out for the week or so after I color it.

25. Right now, my hair is BLONDE
like, parts of it are white blonde, others are my natural blonde, and then the orange crap mixed in. We thinned it out. You can have the good pound of hair we took off. My hair is still the same length. It's ridiculous.

You aren't a weirdo. I used to change blonde shades all of the time when I was younger.

23. wish I could go red
my stylist laughs at me when I whine about it. I don't have the coloring for it for a start...

I do have some copper hints, though. Along with my silver and gold ones!
