An Albert Finney appreciation thread
I just saw a trailer for The Bourne Ultimatum and saw that Finney is in it -- I think he is just a wonderful actor, and seems to be a smart, liberal man.

A few quotes from imdb: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001215/bio

"Call me Sir if you like! Maybe people in America think being a Sir is a big deal. But I think we should all be misters together. I think the Sir thing slightly perpetuates one of our diseases in England, which is snobbery. And it also helps keep us 'quaint,' which I'm not a great fan of. You don't get much with the title anymore. That was all carved up by the robber barons in the Middle Ages."

"After I played a homosexual character in 'A Man of No Importance,' an American journalist asked if I'd have a rainbow flag on my car's bumper. I said I don't 'do' bumper stickers, but if I did, I'd be pleased to use that one. After all, everyone's included in the rainbow, aren't they?"

Hell, alone for "Two for the Road"

Albert Finney is a tremendous actor. One of my favorites.

3. I thought his character
died in the second movie?

He is a great actor. Miller's Crossing is fabulous.

4. I think you're thinking of Brian Cox...the original "Hannibal"
Brian Cox is fantastic, too - I think he's back in this movie in flashbacks, but Albert Finney plays an entirely new character.

I like his work too
jsut have trouble remembering the names of the movies.
The Big Fish? And the one where two kids try kidnapping him and he ends up teaching them about life, with the phrase you just need a 'little friendly understanding' or something like that.
