1. Byuing? no, but's it worth renting.
It's a pretty good movie, if you ignore the pro-war, Freedom isn't free crap that they inserted in there.

2. that's why i almost turned it off last night

9. The effects were rather impressive.
And they're planning use something similar in a new live action Masters of the Universe flick that is supposed to be made. :D

3. Its pretty much a frame by frame adaptation of Millers book...
I like him, so I'll probably get it. I was kinda wondering about the extra features.

4. You couldn't make me watch that movie at gunpoint.
All of that yelling from that one asshole - glory this, fury that, this is where we fight, this is where they die? Christ, we get the point, dickhead, shut the fuck up.

Sorry, having a bad day.

5. got any links to Watchmen news?
I loved the comics. That one should convert well to a movie if done correctly, like Sin City.

6. Looks like a huge, steaming, smelly pile of crap to me.
I've seen the trailers and read the reviews. It looks and sounds simply awful. First of all, the Spartans didn't fight in leather bikini briefs, they fought in helmets and pectoral armor like every other city-state in Greece. There were no war elephants at Thermopylae. And the film's notion of the Spartan contempt for Athenians as "boy-lovers" flies in the face of historical fact: that institutionalized homosexuality was the cornerstone of Spartan military training.

This looks like pandering to adolescent fan-boy blood-lust. If you like violent war film action in a sincere depiction of a historical battle, watch "Saving Private Ryan."

11. A couple of my friends overhyped it
For some reason they thought it was one of the best movies they've ever seen. I was entertained, but certainly not as impressed as they led me to believe.

12. I heard over and over that it was the best movie in the history of the universe
So I went to see it. I see about 3 movies a year (in the theater), if that, but I had to see the best movie in the history of the universe!

It's 117 minutes of my life I'll never get back. It was a grueling experience. Truly awful. I think one would have to already be a big fan of the graphic novel to like that movie.

The popcorn was pretty good, though.

14. Not as much nudity as in most gay porn...
...but I enjoyed it. Didn't make me think I need to own it.
