4. Remember that Hispanic woman who died in the ER waiting room?
Harbor. Been there and it was absolutely shocking. I was in for a -er- thrombost something or other, and felt guilty for even being there, compared to the other folks waiting.

Parkland - Dallas, TX (pissed a kidney stone)

Wilson - Sidney, OH (daughter swallowed something)

5. Sounds like when I was in Charing Cross
in '91 at the height of Thatcherism/Majorism. I crushed a finger in a workplace mishap, and there was a woman there with severe meningitis. Thankfully they saw her first, but I spent all freaking day (ten hours) in the ER, just to get an x-ray and get it fixed.

But it was no worse than some of the "top-notch" emergency room visits I've had in this country.

8. I spent 8 hours at Santa Clara County
with a broken back. That was in the ER waiting room - I'm not counting after I finally saw a doctor. :eyes:

6. Mine
Littleton Hospital Littleton,Co
Denver General Denver, Co
Lutheran Wheatridge, Co

Lutheran is my favorite because the last couple of times when I got sick, they took me in right away and put me on oxygen. It takes them a few to find a room once they decide to admit you. But the best part? They have ROOM SERVICE and you can order food all day long and it's brought up to you. Even if you just want a coke, they'll bring it. And the people there are so nice, unlike the county hospital where they treat everyone like cattle.

19. Yes!
DG is the country hospital. I go to the ID clinic there, the best HIV care in the country. But for ER visits, I go to Lutheran.

15. Georgetown University Hospital in DC.
As an adult:

George Washington University Hospital in DC.

Washington Adventist in Takoma Park, Maryland.

(Note to self: Must spend less time in emergency room.)

As a child:

I can't remember where my parents took me, but at least one of the emergency rooms was in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and another was Somewhere in New Jersey, perhaps Englewood or Tenafly.

32. Just SJRMC
San Juan Regional Medical Center. With my daughter and my dad. They actually made me stop there when I was trying to go to the Labor & Delivery floor when I was in labor with my first son. Had me sit and take my vitals when I was in full blown labor and knew where I was needing to go. So crazy.

34. My first ER visit was in
Amsterdam, Netherlands. 1967

I fell down the steep, narrow stairs in our hotel.

Then came

Yale-New Haven--severe abdominal cramps, which turned out to be spastic colitis 1975

Kaiser-Sunnyside, Clackamas, Oregon--car accident--1990

Many years later,

North Memorial, Robbinsdale, MN (a recurring favorite on this thread) for a car accident--1999
