We're taking it mellow tonight...Pasta with sauce, and sauteed peppers, onions, garlic, and summer squash. :9

4. Homemade southern fried chicken
Absolutely terrible for me, I know, but soooo good. I have chicken thighs marinating in some lightly salted chicken stock at the moment. Those will get dipped into a mixture of beaten egg, chicken broth, and buttermilk, rolled in my special seasoned flour mixture, and fried until crispy golden. We'll also have mashed potatoes, homemade chicken gravy, and fresh green beans. Thankfully for my coronary arteries, I only make it a few times a year. :hi:

and grate some cheddar cheese and open a can of El Pato and wash off some lettuce leaves and heat up the tortilla pan and we're going to have some burrito type things. And then I'm going to wash up the kitchen so my fly bitch can continue to do some art shit in there.

Have a good supper over there, y'all.

6. Pizza
It's a collaborative effort. She makes a dough and leaves it to rise. When I get home I punch it, roll it out, top, and bake it. We'll likely have a margherita pizza, as there is a lot of basil growing in the yard right now.

no snickering, please: "pupus" is the island term for hors d'oeuvres. "Heavy" means that enough of them will be served, at a literary reading at UH this evening, to substitute for dinner, assuming one is quick enough on the draw when they are brought out. :-)
