Oh, Kathy Griffin, you sure know how to make people freak out.
When she’s not making fun of the disabled at a Gem Show performance in Tucson, she’s mocking celebrities and causing problems everywhere she goes. (Read Cathalena E. Burch’s interview with Kathy from back in July before her last Tucson show here.)
Anyone who has ever watched her show, “My Life on the D-List,” or any of her numerous comedy specials, knows a couple things about her – she loves the gays, her mom loves Bill O’Reilly and Kathy isn’t the best Catholic out there. Oh, and she really wanted an Emmy.
Well, she’s got her Emmy now after winning a creative arts award last weekend for best reality show.
Great. Congrats to her. We could easily have guessed her acceptance speech would be interesting and she didn’t disappoint. It went a little something like this:
“A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this. He had nothing to do with this. Suck it, Jesus. This award is my god now.”
Catholic League President Bill Donohue called her remarks a “vulgar, in-your-face brand of hate speech.”
