1. I guess my sugar cravings might be linked to that
Around the time I stopped consuming caffeine I started eating Hostess donuts and milk every day. I have stopped eating sweets, though. Now when I feel the urge to eat sugar I chew some sugar free gum.
Yeah, go get a candy bar. If you're cutting back on coffee and alcohol at the same time, you deserve it. And you've gotta have SOME vices.
The caffeine-withdrawal headaches get me every time. I've found cutting back dramatically on alcohol about five thousand times easier than cutting back even a little on the java.
which is unique because other carbs are 9 calories.
If you are cutting alcohol and caffeine you will probably feel tired/hungry. You might try realigning your metabolism a little. Sugar/candy is only going to give you a quick boost. Better might be to get some long burning protein into your system early in the day. Eggs are a good cheap source of protein. And if you like fruit, that would be better than processed candy.
If you are craving chocolate specifically, then that could be your body trying to find another source for caffeine.
