Yet another reason why I like men:
Earlier in the week, I stopped for drinks with two guys I work with. As the booze flowed, the conversation became more animated. As I quietly sipped my beer, they carried on a very lively, 20-minute discussion on the following topics:

1. things they have blown up
2. friends they have accidentally-on-purpose shot in the ass with a BB gun
3. donning a dog's shock collar and talking about how high they can get shocked before it really
hurts

Now these guys are 52 and 48 years old, yet they were talking and laughing like a couple of sixth-graders. I grew up with five brothers, so I'm used to this sort of thing. I find it oddly endearing. Go figure, huh?

1. they were really competing for you with their manly manly stories
ugh. I don't find it endearing at all. that's why I take a BB gun with me.

6. Nah, they weren't competing for me.
Just male bonding, I think.

10. then they were rude.
if it was just male bonding.
you were excluded and dismissed. or you were there only to hear their manly manly stories.
what do you think the response would have been if you flat out flatulated right there, yourself, and one upped them by telling your story about how you lit a cat on fire on your gramma's lap and giggled enormously?

2. But....
their best bonding is done with flatulence...
They never outgrow it....the appreciation and competition just brings them closer together...
on a very high and spiritual level...

4. I'm guessing they held back on the flatulence because of me.
Little do they know that it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. After all, I did grow up with five brothers!

18. Ugh! The *F* word....
I hate that word.....Whenever I mention how I hate the *F* word people think I mean fuck.....Which is funny as that has been part of my vocabulary since I was 40....Grow old, and start spewing obscenities.....It's a right of passage I guess...I don't even mind typing it on a pubic message board....

peace~

Oh.....and thanks for pointing it out...but it sure would have been a lot funnier if it had happened to someone else!
geesh!
And you are forgiven....even though you have made a PUBIC mockery of me.... :hide:

I grew up with 4 brothers, and while their subject matter varied, they too had there little testosterone contests. I love guys. :hi:

11. Another thing about guys that amuses me:
They can be in the middle of dealing with a complex mechanical problem of some sort, switch to discussing titties, then go back to the problem at hand, all without missing a beat. It's just so goofy, in a good way.

15. that 'complex mechanical problem' is between their ears.
I well know stories like these, but thankfully they are not told in my presence anymore. They know better.

19. Yeah, but I'm convinced
that the 'titties' dialogue never actually stops running in their minds. Along with a host of additional pornographic topics. It just slips into the background now and again.

:loveya: :hi: :pals:

I have three (younger) brothers, and I must say we led sheltered lives, at least as far as the shock-collar thing goes. However, I did convince my youngest brother once, for comedic cinematic purposes, to fall flat on his face without breaking his fall by using his arms. And he did it. :D

My brothers and I, when we get together now, still communicate via sentence fragaments, obscure cartoon references and monosyllabic utterances. Drives Mrs R and her sisters-in-law to bemused distraction.

My mother, who lived her entire adult life surrounded by males, insists her autobiography will be entitled "The Toilet Seat Was Always Up"

I think my Dad missed having a girl almost more than my Mom did but now they have four daughters-in-law and three granddaughters so they're digging it.
