Radio Lady Previews: Rossini's Opera "Cinderella" on stage in Portland (Ore.) November 2 - 10, 2007
Edited on Mon Oct-08-07 12:38 PM by Radio_Lady

The role of Cinderella will be sung by Angela Niederloh (pictured above)

She’s sweet. She’s tender. She’s gracious beyond belief.

Cinderella will steal your heart. And you won’t mind one bit.

Love knows no class boundaries in this delightful romp. Forced into servitude by her jealous step-sisters, Cinderella falls in love with . . . well, you know the story. In the end, she finds it totally bewildering. There she is. At the Royal Ball. And on her Prince’s arm! But does she banish her cruel family? Ah, she’s far too nice for that, and besides, it’s a fairy tale and everyone gets to live happily ever after.

Music to make you smile! Dazzling vocal fireworks. Voices soaring into astonishing ensembles. All at a spirited, sparkling pace that adds a quicksilver magic to this favorite tale.

Composed by Gioachino Rossini and sung in Italian with projected English translations.

However, I'm retired, Fran -- but still volunteering at Oregon Public Broadcasting. I didn't write the information on the Portland Opera site, but I do broadcast and publicize the opera and Broadway musicals, along with other theatrical events, films, and books, on OPB's Accessible Information Network. You can read more about my activities at OPB by going to my journal, and reading the information in the right hand column.

The original press releases come from their publicist, Julia Sheridan.

Thanks for your comments, Fran.

3. Hey - Rafal Olbinski - my poster design teacher did that poster
You might want to use quotation marks to not plagiarize other people's writing. That's what we do in LBN.

16. Can't wait to see this next Friday, November 2nd.
I'm taking Angela, a sweet ten-year-old girl at our fellowship to dinner and then the opera. She was thrilled to be invited. I just love seeing youngsters who want to perform. There aren't any in our family, but many other kids go to school in our community -- we have a music and performance high school here.
