Woo-hoo! 14 lbs. gone!
Six weeks of writing down everything I eat, counting points and going to the gym is paying off. I weighed in today and I am down a total of 14 pounds. At this point, I am starting to feel it. I have a LONG way to go. But yes, diet and exercise can produce results (so far)!

I just hope I can keep this up. The holidays will be a bitch.

1. Congratulations!
That's really great work. Not easy, by any means.

5. that's hurge!
14 pounds in 6 weeks, you must have the strongest will. I lost 20 pounds before but it took me at least a year.
No one understands someone else dieting around the holidays.. well maybe someone does but no one in my family, I always feel weird if I don't join in, especially with my in-laws they live to eat.

6. Don't get discouraged if you plateau soon.
That happened to me when I decided I needed to lose some. I'm 6'5" and had made it up to 226. I'm down to 206 as of today, but I got stuck around 218 for a couple of months.

Now I have a lot more muscle bulk and a lot less fat, so I'm feeling better.

7. Congratulations! I lost 30 lbs and what I realized is
that I don't really need to eat all that much food to get along!

What helps me is this mindset: if I feel a hunger pang, I think 2 things-- one, that means that my body wants food to maintain the weight that I'm already at. If I deny it at that moment, I know I'm losing weight. Second, it keeps me humble, realizing that there are millions around the world who experience the same sensation but are powerless to do anything about it. But for the grace of God go I.

Keep up the good work! :applause:
