I NEVER get any trick or treaters!

I live off the road quite a ways with no neighbors nearby. I really can't blame the kids because there are only four or five houses on the entire road and the candy yield would be low for the effort.

Despite the fact I never get them, I bought some candy "just in case" :-)

1. I gave away seven large bags of candy and some dog treats.

Sometimes I think I'd like to live on a quiet road like you do. (By the way, the dog treats are for people who dress up their dogs and go trick-or-treating with them.)

2. if you really want to give candy away

take a lawn chair, a camp lantern, a good book, and a supply of candy and sit in a high traffic area

Make sure the kids see the candy. You may even want to display a sign that says, "Please 'trick or treat' here!"

3. You can hand out candy at my house...

...while I'm away at a soccer game.
