Drove on the PA turnpike and Rt. 80 to Pittsburgh alot when
my kid was going to school there....
My sister lived in Allentown... if you want dramatic pictures...
on the way into Allentown is the Bethlehem steel works.....
looks like something out of the Batman movies.... awesome
and now she lives in Wilkes-Barre....well outside of it
she works for ......Altria.... dodging tomatoes...LOL

Yeah we talked about that around the 'campfire' that night (no actual fire just camp stoves, wine and brownies). It's how he keeps in shape in the off season :)

That shot was near the Glen Boulder on Glen Boulder trail in the NH White Mountains. We bagged Mt Isolation that evening and watched the sunset.

It's a natural sort of exercise, an activity we humans are well adapted for, and it gets you out into nature...it's just fantastic.

And the Whites are a jewel for hiking. But I believe there are many places within driving distance for NJ/Penn area too, I think there's even an AMC chapter down that way (www.outdoors.org)

But if you're ever looking to do a hike in the Whites let me know I'd be glad to help out however I can.

And that is one awesome looking moth.I was watching a special months ago on the rainforest and they were trying to film a moth that had never been filmed before, and one they weren't even sure existed.There were these orchids that had a deep stem, maybe ten inches long, and someone (Darwin, I want to say) had seen it and postulated that a moth with a tongue that long must exist to get the nectar (Mmmmmmm...nectar!).Well, it does exist, and they found it, and it was pretty damn cool too.That's what this one reminds me of.Supposedly those dots on it's back are meant to look like eyes to scare off predators.Cool shit.

Now if we could only speak to our mutual friend more often.This once a week stuff sucks.I'm lost. :(
