Happy "Square Root Day"!
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 08:57 AM by DarkPhenyx
Yes indeed! Today is square root day. Why you ask? Simple. Look at the date and ask yourself what is the square root of 4.

3. Nope.
it isn't every year even that you have a day and month that have the same numeric value and when multiplied together equal the year. The next square root day won't be until 3 March 2009.

4. Huh?
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 09:00 AM by JCCyC
sqrt(2004) = 44.766058571198782722078752353127

The next perfect square year will be 2025. The one before that was 1936.

Ohhh, I se. Two digits for year. 2 x 2 = 4. I hope you're not a computer programer.

Edit: "Two year digits for year", brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department.

6. Naaaaaaaa, I'm a cancer researcher.
Mmmm, maybe that isn't any better. :) Would probably explain my stunningly low pay as well. Gee.

12. Did your patients go flying like hummingbirds in Jan 1st, 2000?

13. I don't watch TV, so I'm out.
The answer to your question would be no. Of course this is more because I don't have patients, per se...unless you consider cell cultures and mice/rats as patients.

9. It could be.
Can always use another holiday I can "get into". Please explain to the class how tomorrow works out to be "Cube Root Day".

14. Frankly, I hadn't had enough coffee when I posted
I'm not sure what the rules are. All I know is it appears every month has square root and cube root days.

But it would appear that the next day like this would have to be 2/3/08.

Of course there could also be 3/2/09.

18. No, that's still a Square Root Day...
a cube root day would be 2/2/2008 since 2 is the cube root of 8. 2x2x2=8

17. That's It!
I was trying to remember which day it was that my Algebra teacher told us about it. I am probbly the only student he had who actually remembers, but for some reason it stuck. Thanks for the reminder.
