1. And when did you start photography?
I have tried for over two years to get any wading bird with prey in its mouth and you have one! Very nice! Love the berries and the last shot too! You are getting very good at this. :hi:

2. Wow...thank you!!
I've taken pics all my life. Since they gave me a little instamatic when I was 10 years old. But, when I was in my 20's I did take one basic photo course at Orange Coast Community College. I passed... since I took the course pass/fail. Would have actually gotten an A. But I also learned (unfortunately) I didn't have the eyesight needed to use the enlarger in the dark room. :-( Though, I must admit, I spent whole days in there trying to get things to work! Ahhh.... those were the days... getting high on Fixer! lol! :hi:

.. in N. Texas. The Egret and the Maple Leaves were in my neighborhood park... I made my husband stop the car and went running out when I saw the Egret catch a fish!!

18. We were in Bali...
..at the Monkey Forest. I don't know if they even still have it, anymore. Anyway, my father reached into his pocket for a tissue... and before he knew what happened a huge monkey came running down a tree, up my father's pant leg, onto his arm, and bit him on his finger! My poor Dad... I still remember how brave he tried to act... actually, he did act brave! I would have been crying like a 2 year old, but my father just said, "I'm sure the monkey thought I had peanuts or something. I probably didn't do the story justice. It really was funny, at the time... though, it's given me a bit of a complex about how unpredictable a wild animal's behavior can be! lol

40. Well, it took me awhile this morning to find it...
But I think the plant with the clusters of red berries is Nandina, Nandina domestica. Those berries, in the top pic, were actually near the parking lot of the park.. in the landscaping. So, it would make sense.

Here is a link: http://ecoscapes.1adventure.com/bushes.html

I have no idea what the other berry plant, that was on the trail, is called.

49. Our forest is inner city, the only reason we still have it is because of the flood of 2001.
It will be the last of our green space left, the other areas are being townhoused.

We lost our small pond with cattails, just build crap everywhere.

We had over 500 acres of green space, now we are down to about 25 acres of wood and what is left of the railroad yard.

I love my woods, the dogs never want to come out.

59. Nowadays the dark room isn't necessary
You can do anything you want on the computer. Do you know how to use Photoshop? You can do so much more with it than in a dark room, which is becoming obsolete. If you don't know Photoshop you can take courses in junior colleges.

61. You must take photoshop
You will open a door to your creativity that you can't even begin to get in any other software. You will feel like a god!!

The trick is to always save your original and only work on copies of it. Then when you get to where you like it save that as 'name#2' or whatever, and keep working on it. But you should take one course in Photoshop so you understand the tools and most important of all the Layers. You will love the power it gives you, and you'll love being able to combine, mix and create works that you can only do in photoshop. There's a whole side of your creativity you will find out about!
