So why will it take ELEVEN FUCKING DAYS to cash a check?!?!?!

Yeah, it's a big check. Yeah, it's out of state. But isn't this stuff all done online these days? What a scam. :mad:

1. Most recently, I was told two things

at one bank, it would take 5 business days, and at the other about 30 seconds. They do what they want to do with reckless abandon.

2. It's called 'float'.

An 11 day interest free loan.
During which time they can earn interest on your money.

Multiply that by millions and millions of accounts and it's a tidy sum.

3. I have a bank

that when you make a deposit
$100 is available immediatly
then a few days later about 1/3 of the check is available
then about 5 days later the bulk of the check....
no matter if its a bank check, local or if its a big or small check...

I only use this bank for savings so it doesn't impact me...
but if you are counting on the money to cover checks
your screwn....
