What makes a cat a good cat?

Well, my cat always comes down the sidewalk to welcome me when I come home.

She walks with me in the evenings. First cat I ever had that did that.

1. Sophie used to come up to me post-420 and nuzzle me
Maybe I smelled like catnip, but I think it was because the 420 brought me to her level. Mellow, like a small Buddha, covered in fur.

3. Good cats
purr loudly when you pet them
keep you warm by sleeping on you in the winter time
purr loudly when you sit down on the couch next to them
"mee-ack" at you when you come home after a crap day at work (their way of saying "Hey, you're home. Feed me!" which is cat for "I love you.")
do "happy feet" (for them, for me OUCH) on you
give you headbutts
even though dead, come back & rub against your legs (my only explanation for this since all my live ones weren't in the room at the time)

11. When they act like dogs.
Like yours does. :)

My daughter has one like that. I like the other cats well enough I suppose, as long as they're someone else's pets. Her cat, though... that one I would want for myself.
