This cat insists on dunking her mousies...
This lovely girl, Marilyn (who LOVES to be photographed):

We have little furry mouse toys ALL OVER the house, and pretty much every morning for the last week, one poor pitiful orange mouse has ended up in the water bowl. But yesterday - three mousies - blue, green, and orange, were floating in the TOILET when we got back from dinner, with Marilyn peering over the toilet rim, batting them around in a game of mousie-toilet-bumpercars. What does it mean?

I love my kitties! This is the rest of the family:

Tom

Ivan

Clarisse

Novi

Hedy

Ingrid (who hates to be photographed)

1. Beautiful family you have there....
It looks like you really like the Ginger cats. So do I. They're my favorite.

2. they've all just come to us -- they're all strays, except for
Clarisse whom I adopted from a shelter.

Marilyn and Ingrid and Hedy are all the daughters of Novi; she brought them to us a few years ago and we kept them all - when they were kittens, I was pretty sure both Marilyn and Ingrid were boys but they fooled me! We moved here with just Tom and Clarisse; Ivan showed up after Hurricane Ivan, and then the next spring, Novi and her girls...

:hi:

11. she has all the men in the household
wrapped around her little finger (paw?) --- my husband, and Tom and Clarisse adore her. All the cats groom her (and she loves it). Hence the name Marilyn ;-)

4. I have a friend whose male kitty dunks his mousies.
Although, he sticks to the water dish rather than the toilet. There appears to be no rational explanation for such behavior.

12. Marilyn is attracted to any water, but it is the MOST fun if
it's running water. Endless hours of delight. She's our "mer-cat" :hi:

She didn't get them so she pretends her mice are fish.

10. lol! must be - she's fascinated with water and
I should have gotten her some goldfish. Though they probably wouldn't last long - I can just dry the mousies out, but can't do that with harassed goldfish ;-)

:hi:
My stepson decided to share his chocolate milk with Mr GoG's saltwater fish one day. Unfortunately, it did not settle in their tummies.

19. thank you! yes, we do think they're very cute
and perpetually entertaining.

Could definitely be part raccoon, though with their very hairy toes, we suspect Marilyn and Hedy are part Hobbit.

9. Mine has the same colored mousies
:)

But no water dunking, so far. He likes to stuff them all under the stove. Today I was boiling water for tea and looked over the back of the stove to see red and blue mice tucked against the wall. Either he's squeezing in behind the stove to knock them around, or he cuffed 'em all the way from the front to the back. He thinks he's David Beckham.

Love the femme fatale names, btw.

21. we have a few heavy pieces of furniture that we move very
rarely, but when we do, there are TONS of mousies back there. ;-)

We don't USE their screen names at home, but they seem to fit, regardless.

Only he puts them in their water bowl, not the toilet. I don't know how many "puffballs" I've fished out of there! You have gorgeous kittycats!

20. Adorable!
Cats just do weird things with their toys sometimes. Often the favorite kitty toys end up on top of me in the middle of the night....
BTW..Novi looks ALOT like my old cat Turtle (RIP 2005):

27. yes! Pink trees!
Lots of pink in this house; my husband is fine with it, thankfully. Doesn't feel his masculinity is compromised by a color ;-) Or seven cats!

Clarisse is a pistol; she tolerates me but loves my husband to bits. LOVES HIM. All he has to do is walk in the room and she'll start to purr (one of the reasons I considered marrying him, actually, is that my notoriously finicky cat fell in love with him on sight. She most certainly DID NOT fall in love with any earlier boyfriends).

Ivan's a 20 lb bruiser who is still an itty-bitty-kitty at heart.

29. Our old girl, Rosie (gone now)
used to soak her fleece toys in the water bucket and then bring them and put them in your lap. Between that and the face fur (she was a Bouvier) full of water it was loads of fun. (add a lot of sarcasm to that)

planned on it. Wow - Bouviers are neat dogs, supposed to be super smart.

31. We had one before Rosie
who learned how to open the refrigerator and share the good stuff with the cats. Rosie would get her own ice cubes...she was tall enough to press her nose on the ice dispenser. Dottie was found on top of the refrigerator one time when some food she wanted was stored there.

They will find a way or make one. You've got to be really on top of these dogs. Of course, that's true of all the herding breeds. Lots of independence and the smarts to make it work for them.
