I was frying chicken tonight. One piece appeared to have too little flour coating it. I grabbed a measuring cup with "white" in it. I dumped raw white rice on frying chicken. Jeebus!
I was making frosted brownies (don't ask why) and instead of reading the directions, I poured the ingredients for the frosting into the brownie batter. So no frosting on the brownies. What I got instead were brownies that had like a nice little chocolate granache inside when you took a bite. They were YUM! :9
I was making a big pot of beany soup and I wanted to add some pepper to it to maybe help clear my stuffed-up head but I went a little overboard with the pepper and I had to throw half the soup away.. when throwing away food makes me sicker than just about anything, I hate doing it so much, there was no salvaging how I screwed up the soup though.
8. I was cooking my first Thanksgiving dinner for a guy I liked
and his mother. I had very carefully taken the neck and giblets out, put them into a pot of water and simmered them to make broth to make the gravy. When it came time to make the gravy, I picked up the pot and carefully poured the contents into a strainer to remove the neck and giblets. The problem was that I had forgotten to put the strainer over a 2nd pot to catch the broth and it all went down the sink drain. I used chicken bouillon cubes instead.
