But I had to LOL. My grandfather was a Mason, and a more boring, pedestrian human being would have been hard to find. The idea of a vast Pagan conspiracy composed of men like Pop boggles the mind. There's nothing to it. If there had been, my father would have signed up in a heart beat: any chance to tweak the nose of authority would have been irresistible to him. As it was, being a chaplain in the DeMolays as a teen was a lifelong source of embarrassed amusement. That was one atheist that would have been thrilled to caper naked in the moonlight, as long as they allowed him to bring mosquito repellent!

My best friend in High School also came from a Masonic family, and they were die-hard Goldwater conservatives. It think her mother was actually in the DAR. As I said - mind-boggling.
