the reason I don't eat at Olive Garden is because... I'm intolerant.

That's right, I'm lactose intolerant. I discriminate against milk and milk byproducts.

And now you know my horrible secret.

7. I work evenings.
"Lunch" is pretty much what everyone else calls dinner. 1-10 shift. :(

12. Way to make me feel like a numbnut, Hitler. You'd THINK I might have considered that
there are actually people who work evenings, wouldn't you?

But no.

Never underestimate my capacity for density.

22. Nope, the Tuscan Chicken
Which really wasn't that bad. I've had far better, mind you, being a NYer. The wine helped. :P

But considering the craphole I'm in, this is about the best I can hope for.

24. It'll get you by, in a pinch
The only time I end up at Olive Garden is when I'm visiting my mother, who lives in a town of 100,000 in the upper midwest. It's funny because the town has really big SE Asian (Cambodian, Hmong, Vietnamese and Thai) and East African communities (mostly Somali and Ethiopian), but is still pretty midwest homogenous in most respects.

You can get a killer pad thai or excellent Ethiopian, but finding a decent Italian or even a German place in that town is nigh on impossible. So if we want Italian, it's off to Olive Garden. That just cracks me up.
