I Led Three Lives
Does anyone else remember this old television series?

It was outlandish anti-communist propaganda, based, very loosely, on a best-selling book of the same name.

It used to come on late at night, at least late for me, when I was a kid. It scared the crap out of me. It scared me even more than duck-and-cover or fire drills. My mom would not allow me to watch it.

I wish she could have done something similar with duck-and-cover and all those fire drills.

4. "A knight without armor in savage land
His fast gun's for hire
{Something, something}
Paladin!"

How come I can remember that, but not where I left my car keys? Richard Boone also had a weekly dramatic show after that: an ensemble of actors would dramatize various short plays and stories.

Boy, the Lounge has been a trip down memory lane these past few days.

9. It has been such a trip down memory lane for me
that I have begun writing short stories about my childhood.

They may turn out to be crapola, but I am giving it a shot.

Thank you, lounge.

3. Oh gods, yes!
Herbert(?) Philbrick who pretended to be a Communist to spy on them.

The only episode I remember in detail was one where the Evil Communists tried to start a program to find jobs and apartments for paroled felons. I was in elementary school at the time, but I remember thinking "What's wrong with that?"

I must have been a Progressive at a very young age, though I was probably biased by the fact that a family member was serving time for a non-violent felony when I saw the episode.

5. No, but I do remember a show called Blue Light
the premise was similar - an American journalist allegedly defects to the Nazis while all the while being a spy for the allies. I remember that it wasn't a bad show, but if I recall it had a really bad time slot.

8. Yes, I remember it.

It was part of the McCarthy, better dead than red, era. It was meant to scare people away from 'godless communism' cuz these people have nothing stopping them from taking everything you own and giving it to someone else and maybe killing you in the bargain.

Sounds almost like the talking points against 'liberals' today, doesn't it?
