My son is going to his first H.S. dance. We went to Goodwill and got him a suit,
wool, double-breasted and gorgeous, for $9.99! I couldn't believe our luck. His best friend spent $300 on a new suit and Juergen's is nicer. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

12. My mom was a clerk at a Goodwill when I was a kid
She was always bringin' stuff home. Seemed like half our house was furnished with Someone Else's Stuff.

Hell, I've still got stuff that came from there. Especially books. :D

do an ampersand character (shift-7 on most keyboards) followed by "trade;" (without the quotes).

That should do it.

Did not matter to me one bit, and thankfully there were men for which it did not matter to them as well (sorry for the awkward phrasing).

39. I was miserable not going
I was too shy to ask any girls, and back in the early to mid 80s, girls asking boys was still not something that was done. So, I was pretty depressed at the time, even though I knew it was mostly girls standing on one said of the room and boys standing on the other.

Some of the boys wear tuxedos. But in middle school he would have been laughed out of the school if he'd shown up in a tux or a suit, so maybe your son will have the same experience. :hi:

44. I've got an incredibly bad-ass leather trench coat that I got at Goodwill...
25 bucks. If I'd just bought that much leather and made the damn thing myself it woulda cost me at least a hundred. :)

I was actually looking at the leather coats there because I've dabbled a bit in leatherwork, but leather is expensive so I was hoping to buy something that I could cut up. But the coat was just far too awesome to cut up.

And now that I live in a place where we actually have winter, it comes in handy.
