Need an opinion on a coat
I need a new winter coat and I want to take advantage of some sales. I just got a Columbia parka from Amazon.com that's, well, too darn hot and the cuffs scrape the crap out of my wrists. Time for a return. And now for some thoughts from anonymous liberals on fashion... ;)

I found this coat, all wool:
http://www.ibexwear.com/shop/ProductDetail.php?GID=825&VID=9306&Product=Guapo-Jacket
and another one from them:
http://www.ibexwear.com/shop/ProductDetail.php?GID=827&VID=9351&Product=Europa-Jacket

Any opinions? My outgoing coat is not particularly warm so I just layer up in colder weather...

1. Aren't they too short?
I don't know how cold it gets by you, but that jacket looks too short to wear on very cold days. You'll freeze your man parts off.

4. My little sister has 2 coats
that her tummy shows in. And it goes down to -50 C here. So. Bloody. Insane.

This style, this make, but not this coat:

11. A young woman who works with our son has that coat
it's not wam at all - she finally went back to her Columbia when it got below zero. Sorry BabyPhat - for show only!

12. That is a concern
They claim they're mid-hip, which is the same length as the COlumbia coat I have that I don't like:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TRMWB4/ref=s9_asin_title_1_subs_45_18_16_12_9?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1N4VV4AJW8WFXTKEAK2S&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=278240301&pf_rd_i=507846

My outgoing coat is a mid-thigh piece of cheap, unfashionable Eddie Bauer junk. The zipper has failed, although it did last many years.

2. I like the first one.
A bit more stylish than the second, I think.

5. I vote for the second one
The Guapo has the titty-zipper, which I'm not a fan of. The Europa has cleaner lines.

7. I agree. The second is kind of... frumpy

8. Another vote for the first one
It looks more fitted and tailored.

The second one looks too loose and baggy.

13. The second one in blue/gray looks better.
The crazy amount of zippers on the first makes it look cluttered.

15. I like the second
The first looks a bit too fussy for my taste. Of course, if you're living somewhere really cold, neither would suit.

16. I prefer the Europa.
It doesn't have that weird piped seam around the midsection that draws attention to a possible problem area.

17. a few thoughts:
the arms on both look a little short - esp. the first one, though the model could just have long arms. My husband has long arms and we are forever having a hard time finding shirts and jackets that extend beyond his wrist bones. If you wear something bulky underneath, like a sweater, that might make the arms fit a little differently, too.

Also, depends how soft the wool is - both jackets come up around the neck - if it's scratchy wool, it'll suck, unless you have a softer scarf to wrap around your neck.

And as everyone else has mentioned - they're just hip-length; if you're in really cold or windy weather, you're gonna freeze your butt off.

I do like the styling on them both, though.
