t has had quite the way with me for the past few semesters. t loves those evil convolutions and decaying exponentials and transient responses.

I'm done with you, t. I'm voting for s in November. Change you can make algebraically.

LaPlace/Fourier '08!

1. God, yes, just do a Fourier transform on that crap.
Or a z transform if you're a real geek.

2. They make you do it the hard way first
so that you will appreciate working with with the transform method.

I remember wanting to throttle my EE161 prof, "What, you mean we've been doing it the hard way all semester?!"

5. Oh, I was down with the frequency domain years ago, as an undergrad
Oddly enough, back then we learned frequency analysis first, then time analysis (that makes more sense to me, honestly); the downside is that delays introduction to differential equations, so I understand why you would want the time domain first.

It's just now I'm in a control systems class (coolest class I've ever had in EE, bar none), and we're deriving time-domain behavior from frequency-domain characteristics.

It merely reinforces how much the time domain sucks!

9. I was taking differential equations
concurrently with circuit theory so at some times one class would be ahead of the other.

Control theory was pretty cool but my prof had a very hard to understand accent. Fortunately the text was good.

3. I don't like Fourier and his fancy schmancy transforms...
I prefer someone who's a little more...discrete.

7. This is the lounge where we talk about things like Gilligan's Island
showoffs. I can barely read a digital clock.
