With Baseball season soon upon us, time again for us to predict "When will my team be eliminated"
Time to determine when your team will be stastically eliminated from the playoffs.

I think this might be a good year for the Cincinnati Reds and perhaps it'll be around 4th of July when they'll be statistically eliminated from the playoffs. That's almost a month more than last year (I had said Flag Day June 14th)

So sad. I LOVE baseball and we stink worse than a week-old kielbasa-and-kraut buffet.

39. the Pirates will be eliminating all styrofoam cups at the ballpark this season.
Pirates to recycle, take other green measures at PNC Park
Tuesday, March 11, 2008
By Mark Belko, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

PNC Park will be a lot greener this summer.

The Pirates are launching an effort to become more environmentally friendly -- from the front office right down to the players' locker rooms.

A key component of the "Let's Go Bucs, Let's Go Green" program will be a "robust" recycling effort aimed at recapturing some 760,000 plastic bottles and aluminum cans used at PNC Park during the season. To assist fans, the team plans to place 180 recycling containers, including 90 silver bottle-shaped receptacles, at key locations throughout the ballpark. It also will establish a "green team" to sweep the stands after games to collect bottles or cans are left behind.
In addition, the Pirates will be eliminating all styrofoam cups at the ballpark this season. Concessionaires Aramark and Levy Restaurants will be using corn-based beverage cups and eliminating most non-biodegradable materials in utensils, plates, napkins and food carriers.

All paper used in the front office, including copy paper and team stationery, and in restrooms will be more environmentally friendly. The team also has installed motion sensors at 86 locations to conserve energy. It also is using energy-efficient bulbs as others are replaced or in new spaces that open in the park.
The team is planning an awareness campaign that includes public service announcements from Pirates players on PNC Park's giant video board as well as information on its Web site, during game broadcasts, and in its publications.
While the initiative likely will create some additional costs, Pirates President Frank Coonelly said it should end up saving the team money in the long run.

6. I will make no such prediction
The 'Stros have a way of bringing me to pure elation and then crushing me w/ a colossal "choke". Therefore, I will leave it to those w/ a stronger constitution to make a prediction.

mark

I pray for September

I would be happy if they were spoilers

I would be elated if they made the playoffs

Probably need drugs if they made the Series

Depends on Homer, Aaron Harang and Bronson Arroyo, and the health of everyone else except Griffey and the Donkey

We will go see them play, we will cheer, and wish, then go back home and look at the Big Red machine signed baseball we have under glass and make small noises of regret.

Hometown (born and raised) is Detroit. I predict the Tigers get to the Series so I guess my guess is they are not eliminated.
My home now, suburb of Seattle, Everett. Mariners keep it interesting for us until September 12th....

their offense looks tough. still have some pitching holes to fill but pretty much every team has pitching issues. they might be better this year than they were last year.
