16. I second that. A lot of the flavors, like lemonade and strawberry daquiri, go down
smoother than you'd think.

Just don't do what I did as a senior in high school, and chase a half-pint of Bacardi with a bottle of Boone's daquiri in less than an hour. Let's just say I wound up with bright red stains on my shoes, and a horrible next day.

10. I did once. Just once.
Never again. Horrible bedspin/blackout kind of drunk. And you don't know you're getting that drunk because you've had so little of it. Then it hits you.

Hard.

5. Depends on what you are smoking
Maddog is a smoking wine. Constant smoking harsh cigarettes or butts is needed to fully enjoy the depth of the wine.

Thunderbird is better from a glass or jar. You'll need a malt liquor chaser though.

7. I can tell you from experience...
...Thunderbird is nasty, but it won't stain everything in your house purple when you throw it back up like 20/20 will.

14. Marketing story
When Gallo first brought Thunderbird out, they sent thousands of guys out on the streets and they placed a bottle in the backseat of any Convertible they saw. At the time, they knew convertible drivers were justthe demo they wanted. This coupled with the hipsteresque radio commercial "what's the word? ....Thunderbird!" ( which I just loved to say because it really seemed to bother the adults!) resulted in record sales for a product launch. Apocryphal, but many swear it's true.

22. They just don't seem to have King's Burgundy on there--
and I'm pretty sure you can still get it. It's a heavy old jug, but that's okay because the weight holds your hand steady while you pour and it gets easier as the night moves on. Perhaps they consider it too upscale to be a bum wine--I reckon it's more of an "under-age drinking party-what's in the punch beverage", unless you like drinking alone and enjoying something that slowly darkens the waxed paper cup you pour it into. It doesn't age well, though. I've never found a spatula long & thin enough to scrape that last bit out of the bottom.

I'm pretty sure I haven't hallucinated it.
