Hi, I'm a doubly duped consumer
Twice I bought a Dyson (okay, only once, but my family bought one that broke and then I bought the next one) and of course, it's broken again. But that isn't the point of this post. I was trying to decide if I was going to get it fixed or get a cheap something else. I decided to use its extension today (that part is not broken) but couldn't figure out how to make it work. I pushed every button I could find (none labeled) called the help number on the vacuum (maybe, that should be a clue) and got put on endless hold. Called two of my friends who rave about Dysons, in the hope that they could unlock the mystery.

So, a 5 minute project is turning into an afternoon mess as we can't use the tiny bathroom while I've got the vent torn apart waiting for someone to tell me how to make my ^$^%^*& vacuum work. I am so getting another vacuum. I won't fix this one just to be held hostage to all it's myriad high tech, easily broken crap!

Ah, I may not be able to finish my vent in the bathroom, but I think I've finished my vent in the Lounge. Thanks for listening, oh magnificent Lizards!

1. bummer

So far I really like our Dyson. Hopefully it will last as long as the last vacuum did.

Hope you can use your bathroom soon. :(

2. I just took the vacuum out and put the bathroom back together
It took a supreme force of will not to go find a hammer, but, on occasion, I can behave like an adult, no matter how much that damn vacuum deserves to be in pieces. I'll just be glad to have a vacuum that isn't space age difficult to use and easily broken to boot. After this one started having problems a few months ago, I looked online and found plenty of people saying that while their Dysons sucked well, their Dysons also sucked in other ways - highly prone to breakdowns. So, may the Dyson force be with you, I'm moving on. At least that part got resolved. I've sort of been procrastinating, trying to decide whether to pay the repair cost or get something else.
