My mother-in-law microwaved a can of dollar-store salmon this AM
now my whole house smells like a trash dumpster or a city alleyway. :puke:

I've got candles lit all over the house, but it's not helping. I think this is going to put me off salmon for months to come. It is absolutely rank.

3. The stuff in pouches is ok....the shit she nuked this AM has a
thoroughly nauseating oily, greasy, spoiled-fishy smell going. It's persistent, too...hours later, I'm still smelling it in the house.

4. Pour some ammonia in a shallow dish
It will absorb the odor without making the house smell like ammonia. I've used this often when the cats here decide to use something other than the litter box as their personal bathroom.

5. I feel kinda bad
because I know if it happened to me I'd be pissed but the way you say it makes it sound funny
I hope you can just forget about the smell soon!

6. Have you checked out your microwave?
Fish is one of those odors that tends to linger in the microwave as well as your home. Good luck.

I once had my oldest deep fry fish in the house..never again. It's a patio event only now.
