A bunch of things hit me hard and fast at the same time, in both life and school. Two weeks of valiant effort has cleared most of the schoolwork, and the car trouble can be postponed.
However, I still have to:
Finish a five-page paper (I'm beginning to despise post-modern literature) and write a short essay for one class.
Write a bare-bones (500 words or less) complete short story for my Fiction II class. The prof said simply excerpting a chunk from a larger story wouldn't work. (Never mind that at the going rate for beginning writers, a 500-word story pays about $35 -- IF you can even sell something with so little room for plot, character development, and description.)
Do some laundry.
Go to the closest Social Security office, get a replacement card. (God only knows how long that'll take, even filling out the form in advance.)
Once I have the replacement card, I can finally start selling plasma to start paying this $75 parking ticket I got and haven't been able to do jack towards paying off before today. (2-3 hours.)
Go to my university's Department of Transportation and beg for an extension to get the ticket paid, since it's due in full on Monday, and it'll be Wednesday before I can scrape the money from plasma sales together. (I refuse to beg the money off my parents for this. My fault, I'll pay it off, and I don't need them bitching at me.)
Get my meds refilled/slight prescription change to a larger, time-release dose with a single pill, rather than two pills, since my memory is absolutely shot and I've forgotten to take the second pill a good third of the time. (1 hour -- assuming I don't have to call my psychiatrist and wait on her to get back to me.)
***
All this on three hours of sleep in the last two days, while gulping anti-diarrheal pills so my stomach doesn't pull its usual bad reaction to lack of sleep and lots of coffee.
I feel like something exhumed from a grave, and probably look and smell like that, too.
*sigh* Back to work.
