My son just got some great news!!! ~ I'm so happy!
Edited on Mon May-05-08 09:21 AM by Breeze54
:woohoo:

He just got hired at a new job he interviewed for on Thursday morning and almost doubled his yearly salary! They just called him and told him he's hired! He's going to work now, at his old job, to give them notice! :D He's a little nervous about doing that because he's been working there since 9th grade! He started there in August, 2004 but this job pays more, has regular (7 - 3 PM) hours and no weekends and he can carpool with a friend who works there, so that will save on gas too! Onward and upward!

PS. Now, maybe he'll move out!! :P :toast:

1. Congrats!
If he moves, will you be an empty nester? Or are there others in the wings?

I'm so glad he finally took the step to find a better job!

I've been urging him to do that for awhile and he finally did and it paid off!

:toast:

Gives me the urge to start packing and throwing things out in earnest now! :P

8. For sure, this is great!
He can definitely use that extra money and although the company isn't that
far away (maybe 8 miles) it will still be a good savings on gas! And the
extra pay will be a great step for him to actually get on his feet now and
work less crazy hours. He never gets a weekend off now and he's missed out
on a lot of social things and going to sports games, concerts and parties, etc.
So, this will be a huge change, for the better, for him. ;)

11. OMG! The old job may not want to lose him....
Edited on Mon May-05-08 11:41 AM by Breeze54
He just came home in the company van and they took him off his regular job and set him free with deliveries all day!
He's laughing and grinning from ear to ear! :D To funny! They should have hired him permanent, full-time, with all the
benefits last year when they had the chance!! To late, their loss! :P

16. Well; as a follow up...
He gave them notice at 3 PM and I was there at the store when he told them
but I wasn't there for that! I needed the rent money! :P Two managers were
having quite the conversation with him. I was watching from a distance and
it looked intense but friendly of course it was all about THEM and the week's
work schedule and they wanted to make sure he'd be there for the rest of the week.
He will be but he has a gleam in his eye now that I've never seen before and I like it!

He said to me, "Hey? I could NOT show up and they can't do anything to me now!"

Muwhahahaha! I'm celebrating.... now! :toast:

18. Thanks and good luck to you too!
I hope you get the job!! He didn't 'just' apply last Thursday though...

He applied 3 weeks ago and had a small interview and then a second interview last Thursday.

I wish you the best of luck! :D
